What is the purpose of this excavation?

This is to shed light on the culture of ancient Tamil people. Tamil is the oldest language and we don't know when or where the language came from. When the Aryans came into India, they recorded that the people living in the Southern part of India were very advanced and they also had their own language. So, we need to find out how they lived and their culture.

Who is excavating?

The Tamilnadu archeological department (TAD) is planning and executing this excavation. It also funds it and it contains a very great team of archeologists. They are planning to do even more and to discover more things.

Chinese space probe Chang'e-5, carrying rocks and soil from the Moon, returned to Earth safely on December 17. The capsule carrying the samples landed in northern China's inner Mongolia region.   This is the first lunar sample return since 1976, when the former Soviet Union's Luna 24 returned with Lunar material.
